Notes:22/10/1901: CSRC to JH Sinclair, offering him the post of Asst Superintendent at Bloemfontein; it is probably that the present Asst superintendent will be transferred to Ladybrand. Salary £300 pa. There would be no chance of a superintendent's post as he is full up. Position not definite.
Name:Springfontein RC
Notes:29/9/1902: Telegram: Abe Bailey to DA: Would consider it great favour if you would kindly allow JH Sinclair fortnight's leave to come to Joburg to practice and play cricket against Australians.
30/9/1902: Telegram: DA in reply: I don't think there will be any difficulty in arranging Sinclair's leave if he lets Chief Supt Bloemfontein know the date he wishes it to begin.
30/9/1902: Telegram: Comfort to SRC Springfontein: You are granted a fortnight's leave to proceed to Johannesburg for cricket against Australians. Hope you will bowl them all out.
22/10/1902: Telegram: Governor Johannesburg to Lieut Gov Bloemfontein: Sinclair of RCs is wanted to form one of South African eleven to play Australians at Cape Town. He would have to have leave I gather from 15th Nov if you see no objection I should be glad it this could be arranged.
