Notes:6/5/1901: J Arndt, missionary of Lutheran Church to CSRC: P van Wyk and family were brought to Bloemfontein with the first refugee natives from Luckhoff, whey they like others were said that those who had friends in the locations ought to go there to find room for living. / Petrus a man rather advanced in years did so but it comes very hard upon him to pay rent and support his family, and desires very much to be transplaced to the Refugee Native Camp near Kaffirfontein. He is at the same time an evangelist of our Lutheran Church at Luckhoff and wishes to preach and teach his people as formerly at Luckhoff, not only on Sundays but also during the week. His people also want to get him back to the camp. / Asks if he can got to the camp with is wife and family, and have a tent large enough to keep services and classes in as also to supply them with food like the other refugees.
