Notes:5/11/1901: CSRC to Miss Pauline Duckett [sic], Masure, Malmesbury: Ladies Commission has mentioned her name in connection with the appointment of a camp matron in one of the RCs. Asks for her qualifications.
10/11/1901: Pauline Duckitt in reply: Whe was matron in the Girls High School (Dames Institute), Bloemfontein, for over 5 years. Suggests references. Will be pleased to accept job at about £10 per month.
21/11/1901: WAR to CSRC: Has not been able to get much information about Miss Duckitt; believes her people are quite loyal.

Notes:8/5/1902, Superintendent, Bethulie to CSRC: She has up to date had charge of the orphanage and has given out clothing and boots and shoes to the women under the supervision of the clothing committee, and has been styled the Relief Matron. I made the remark about her being removed to another camp for duties as after the orphanage and clothing have been taken out of her hands there will be nothing for her tod do. I may add that she has worked well here. She is of Dutch extraction.
