Notes:28/9/1901: Superintendent to CSRC, with recommendation of SMO, wants to appoint her as matron; proposed salary £180 pa. Points out she has practically been acting as such on a small scale for some time, without remuneration and has given great satisfaction.
1/10/1901: Reply, agreeing, salary to commence from start of soup kitchens

21/12/1902: wanting to return to Holland

6/10/1902: SMO Winburg to CSRC: Asks if Sr B could be kept until last. 'She has been far and away the best worker in this camp, and I should rather see all the other members of my staff dismissed before her.

24/12/1902: SRC Winburg to CSRC: Has received offer to take a patient back to Holland.

29/12/1902: SMO TH Molesworth to SRC Winburg: on request for confidential report on. I have nothing but praise for her work. In the early days of this camp she was quite alone, and the amount of work she got through was wonderful, besides she has worked in the camp now for nearly two years without leaving it for a single night. She has always shown great tact and fairness, and it has always been a pleasure for me to work with her.
