Notes:6/9/1901: burnt to death; at inquest it appeared the deceased was suffering from measles, in fact dying; the mother kept a candle burning during the night, & falling asleep whilst watching the sick child, awoke to find the place in flames. 6 other children were also in the tent, a struggle ensued to get out, when at last the door was opened and help procured, the sick child was so badly burnt that it died the next morning.
