Notes:9/12/1901: Sister Donovan to SRC Brandfort: applying for post of camp matron. Has been for four months senior sister in charge of hospital marquees, and is well acquainted with the language and customs of the Dutch people. 'As the work of camp matron is more trying and fatiguing than the duties of a nursing siser in charge of hospital marquees I hope that the remuneration will be better and that I can see that the appointment is a permanency for at least six months, as under the conditions which at present exist in this camp, some time must be allowed to elapse before substantial results can be looked for.
12/12/1901: CSRC to SRC Brandfort: approving the appointment at £12 a month, probably for six months or more.
