Scope:Dr Gerhard Mare is an Associate Professor in Sociology in Industrial, Organisational and Labour Studies (IOLS) on the Durban campus of the University of KwaZulu-Natal. His Natal Room Collection is based in his research interests: Chief GM Buthelezi, Inkatha and KwaZulu. He has written several books in these topics, including "An appetite for power: Buthelezi's Inkatha and South Africa", co-authored with Georgina Hamilton. Dr Mare has also been a Board Member of the Association for Rural Advancement (AFRA).
