Scope:Records of a non-profit land NGO, previously affiliated to Black Sash, which supports rural communities and works towards better access to land and resources for the historically disadvantaged in rural areas.
The original TRAC was established as a programme of the Black Sash Movement in 1982 to oppose the Apartheid government's racist policy of forced removals. From 1982-1992 the focus was on stpping forced removals, raising awareness about forced removals, and providing support to victims. After 1992 the structure and focus of the organisation changed to reflect the changing political climate. This database only deals with records from the period of Black Sash involvement (1982-1992).
