Professor George Wille Q.C. was born in Graaf-Reinet in
ca 1880, and read for his B.A.LLB. at
He became the first full-time professor of law at
U.C.T. in 1920, holding the chair until 1945, and lecturing chiefly on
Roman-Dutch law. Many judges in
Professor Wille was one of the best-known legal writers
in

support of equal legal rights for women and of the extension of the full benefit
