1/4/1901: Superintendent's report: Considers him a capable MO and has great experience amongst the Boer people. So far as his duties in connection with the camp are concerned, he employs himself solely with the hospital, and no refugee living in town receives treatment from him free of charge.

9/5/1901: CSRC to Superintendent, Kroonstad: To inform Dr S that his services will no longer be required as MO to the RC after 10/5/1901. 'The reason being that I consider two Resident Surgeons in Camp. I am sending you an additional medical officer.' To thank Dr Symonds for his services.
