Notes:26/11/1902: SMO Springfontein to SRC: Dutch probationer Rachel Lombard has asked me if I can get her a situation as a probationer in an hospital. Will you please find if the CSRC has any such places at his disposal. The matron informs me that she has been a nurse here for the last ten months, that she is very reliable and truthful, and has at all times done what was required of her cheerfully and well. Her reason for desiring this is that her home life as you know is not a very happy one and the taste of hospital life she has got here has made her wish to continue it.
Note: 1/12/1902: CSRC to PY MOH: Here is the very chance you were looking for.
PY in reply: Many thanks! I have wired SRC Springfontein to request Miss Lombard to proceed to Jagerfontein and report herself to the ARM for duty.
